Shiatsu & AromaAcupoint Therapist
Sara Vanin has been studying and sharing the benefits of Shiatsu since 1997, graduating from the Ohashi Institute in 2001 and becoming a Certifed Ohashiatsu Instructor in 2005. She is a graduate of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in Chicago (2008), Certified Holistic Health Coach with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN, 2012) and AromaAcupoint Therapist (AAT, 2016).
Sara has worked as a shiatsu therapist since her graduation from the Ohashi Institute and offered her services in a variety of settings, from medical centers, in the early beginnings, in Italy, to a hospital based wellness center, an emotional wellness center, as well as acupuncture clinics in the Chicago area.
Sara has been teaching shiatsu at PCOM and other schools in the Chicago area since 2007. She also teaches continuing education classes for asian bodywork professionals, as well as to anyone who is interested in learning.
Sara’s assessment and treatment approach is based on insights gained from Traditional Chinese Medicine principles. She specializes in treating chronic pain, chronic conditions and stress relief with a gentle yet deep touch and with essential oils.
“The idea of ‘No Pain, No Gain’ in a session never worked for me. My experience has been that touch could reveal pain, but shouldn’t cause it. When the pain is revealed, it is also acknowledged and in that moment of acknowledgment, the journey toward freedom from it begins. I’ve experienced it myself, and seen it on others many times.
…I just love to empower people to live more healthy and vibrant lives!” – Sara V.
