This 200-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training will create the space for you to study the history and the practice of yoga, but to also excauvate what is at the root of your own being and bring out the best version of you.
This creative and comprehensive training features input from other teachers with strong backgrounds in diverse styles of Hatha Yoga including Vinyasa, Alignment Based Yoga, Power, Astanga, Iyengar, Yin, Prenatal, Therapeutic and Restorative, and teaches a fusion of styles and movement techniques that have led the way in the evolution of Western Yoga. The Tribalance Yoga School is certified by Yoga Alliance®.The goal of the program is to provide trainees with a strong foundation in all aspects of yoga from which they can develop a style of teaching most suited to their interests and aspirations. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be certified as 200-Hour Hatha Yoga Teachers and are eligible for Yoga Alliance RYT-200 registration.

Getting down to the core of the major yoga poses where you will learn the foundation of the physical practice of yoga. This section will include precise anatomical alignment, transitions, modifications, variations, prop usage, verbal corrections, hands-on adjustments, contra-indications, benefits and developing a self-practice.
Study the history and philosophy of yoga that provides a foundation for your entire yoga practice. Learn how to bring this philosophy into your own life and into the practice you share with your students. This section will incorporate the study of traditional & contemporary texts, eastern philosophy and theory, and the ethics and responsibility involved in becoming a yoga teacher.
Discover the power and the healing components of the breath and learn how to intergrate this into your practive. Through breath awareness and specific breathing techniques you will learn how to effectively combine pranayama into your own practice and how to guide others in unifying breath, movement and meditation.
In addition to the Teaching Skills module, you will also be introduced to the world of private yoga instruction. The ‘One-on-One’ Teaching practicum prepares you to give personalized instruction with intelligence and attentiveness to your students’ individual needs.
Yoga teacher training is a time of self reflection and soul searching. It is a time to dig deep and really get to know where you have been and decide where you are going. Students will evolve down their personal path through journaling, self-study and interactive group discussion. This section creates a space to share your experiences of yoga and the teacher training process in a supportive environment. Ongoing self study and personal growth is nurtured as an important aspect of becoming an authentic teacher.
Gain knowledge of the beautiful Sanskrit language. We makes this fun by doing it through asana, mantras, and chanting.
This is an indepth study of human anatomy and physiology as it specifically relates to yoga. You will explore the components of anatomy, taking an in-depth look at the spine, the major muscles of the body, major joints and systems as well. We will study the major joints like the shoulders and the hips and how to approach moving within the body correctly and safely.
Creative sequencing will teach you how to combine creativity and wisdom to deliver quality classes that adhere to the alignment principles. This module covers the foundations of sequencing and how to be attentive to the level and capacity of all students in a class. We examine the role of a movement teacher in the safety and longevity of a student and their practice, as well as the importance of correct technique, pace and progression. We also explore creativity and artistry in breathing fresh air into traditional and set sequencing where you are encouraged to find your own voice and style.
Class composition is what often sets teachers apart – the ability to lead an interesting and informative yoga practice that helps facilitate a student’s understanding and progress. Learn how to create a complete class from start to finish working with common composition tools – templates, philosophical themes, anatomical focuses, ‘peak poses’ and more. You will explore how to set up the yoga space, create an atmosphere, use music/ dialogue and put together a complete class that plays to your strengths as a teacher.
You will also cover fundamental ‘do’s’ and ‘don’ts’ for Pre- and Post-Natal Yoga, and the differences for each trimester. As a yoga teacher of any style, level or population you must be able to accommodate for differences in movement ability as well as individual needs due to specific health conditions.
Restorative poses use props and techniques that are assessible for any and every body. Knowledge and confidence is crucial for a teacher’s ability to work with students with injury, illness or disability to create a safe space for deep relaxation and healing. Learn and exerience the long benificial holds of Yin yoga. Study the dynamic and flow of Vinyasa. Learn some of the powerful and proven practices of the Grandfather of Yoga B.K.S. Iyengar.
The yoga industry needs successful yoga studios. The world needs more yoga. The industry has a taboo of being a group of ‘struggling artists’. It doesn’t need to be if you have the business know-how. You will discover how to make the transition from trainee to teacher as enjoyable and successful as possible.Students will learn the business behind running a yoga center. Students will get to learn the start up cost on what it takes to open a one room yoga studio to also starting up a 3 studio facility.
TriBalance Yoga will be offering teacher trainees the unique opportunity to teach public classes (posted as ‘Community or Karma Classes’ on the regular weekly schedule) as part of the training to give you ‘real’ teaching experience in a group class setting. It will give you the time & space to discuss your experiences with teaching and to work with your mentor in refining this process so that you are comfortable with teaching in a bigger setting.
The Apprenticeship Program is designed to nurture and draw out the fire from within you. We will guide you through how to work the room, work the heat, the lighting, the music; all while delivering a powerful and fun class to the students. Learn and apply hands on adjustments in real life scenarios, theme a class and work up to that pinnacle pose. We believe people learn the best by doing- so here is where we walk with you through the fire.
